Synopsis
Pada orasi ini akan dipaparkan pentingnya peran sistematika ngengat di Indonesia. Tidak hanya terbatas pada perannya dalam pengungkapan keanekaragaman jenis yang ada, tetapi juga dalam rangka untuk meningkatkan keefektifannya dalam pengendalian hama pertanian, baik melalui pencegahan maupun pengendalian secara terpadu.

Menamatkan Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah Garongan
pada tahun 1979, Sekolah Menengah Pertama Bendungan tahun
1982, Sekolah Pertanian Menengah Atas Negeri Yogyakarta tahun
1985. Memperoleh Gelar Diploma Pertanian dari IPB pada
tahun 1987, Gelar Sarjana Biologi dari UNSOED Purwokerto
pada tahun 1991, Gelar Magister dari Australian National University
tahun 1999, dan gelar Doktor di bidang Bioscience dari
Hokkaido University pada tahun 2004.
